Hi I’m Josie, a freelance Landscape and Nature Photographer, based in Melbourne, Australia.
My love of photography started very simply by walking past a gorgeous gallery I used to work near. Seeing all the landscapes on display in books and magazines, on puzzles and large prints on the walls made me want to be able to do the same – I was inspired.
Distracted by life and my work in the travel industry, I regret not having picked up a camera sooner. But destiny has brought us together again and now photography and sharing it with others is a big part of my travels.
There’s something special about the feeling of escaping in landscape photography. It captures a moment of exploring. Of discovering something that catches your eye. And being out there in nature, on my own is about enjoying where I am. Sometimes I don’t even pick up the camera. Other times, it’s too good not to share.
I feel in my place outside – free and confident. And I think the world could do with a bit more of these simple pleasures.
